:47 second video - Derb Carter showing an aerial view of a wastewater spray field at the Sanderson Foods plant in Kinston NC. The field is clearly causing runoff into nearby woodlands which border the Neuse River. Sanderson asserts that they do not have any environmental violations at this plant (which was built in 2011). However, Mr. Carter brings out that they are being disingenuous because they know that the plant not been inspected in 3 years.

1:53 snippet where Derb Carter shares three red flags that should raise concern.1-Why is project moving forward behind closed doors? 2-The City of Wilson opposed Sanderson, filed lawsuits to keep Sanderson out because the citizens did not want the plant there. 3. This project does not just affect Fayetteville. It will affect everyone all the way down to Wilmington. It will affect our entire watershed.

1:24  - Kemp Burdette discussing recent toxic blue green algae bloom in Cape Fear River.

:53 second video - Kemp Burdette "The Cape Fear is probably in the worse shape of any river in the state as far as nutrient inputs go. . .This proposed facility is the exact opposite of what we need to be doing for the Cape Fear River. It is going to be a death sentence for water quality in the Cape Fear River. It is going to be extremely problematic for  drinking water intakes downstream.

Larry Baldwin

Waterkeeper Alliance, NC Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation Coordinator. ᅠBS Environmental Sciences. ᅠFormerly Lower Neuse Riverkeeper. Mr. Baldwin focuses on preventing pollution from industrial animal operations.

1:51 - Larry Baldwin discussing "the insidiousness" of Sanderson Farms. He tells how they went directly to the politicians of Lenoir County and the City of Kinston and got all their permits done without giving the citizens the same opportunity to share their concerns that the City of Wilson did. It shows a pattern of how Sanderson works because they know that most people do not want a chicken slaughterhouse that will be handling 1.25 million birds weekly in their community.

1:51 - Larry Baldwin - Slide show of CAFO waste. Tested runoff water for e-coli bacteria. Normal rates would be 250 colonies per milliliter, the runoff from chicken litter was over 60,000 colonies. "This stuff is Toxic". The state has very little monitoring or oversight of the chicken industry.
